Travel Agents

JTB Travel Branches are all over Japan

Your local travel agent.

When you're traveling traveling from Japan and overseas and within Japan, you should visit local travel agents. You can find travel agents all over Japan. They are in almost any sized city or town. If you are in a large sized city, you will find many that have agents that can speak English and other languages

Are travel agents expensive? What's so great?

From our experiences, travel agents are the best and only way to travel.

Prices for individual flights shouldn't vary among different travel agencies. If you ask for a specific flight, they will call the airlines company or a larger ticketing agency and ask them for a quote. Prices online are often the same as if you walked into a travel agency. Walking into a travel agency allows you to know exactly what the details of your trip are as opposed to e-mail conversations.

Travel agents do not charge a commission for services such as booking a flight or hotel.

Travel agents can also assist you with booking rental cars, applying for visas and other tourist information. Be sure you check out your local travel agent before booking a flight online.

Travel Package Deals

Travel Package Brochures

Travel package brochures at a train station.

There are package deals (airfare and hotel) offered through travel agents. These package deals are quite popular and offer deals overseas as well as destinations in Japan. If you walk by a travel agency or a train station, you will find brochures advertising these package deals.

The prices of package deals vary on destination, time of the year, number of days, place of departure and the hotel. Some package deals may require at least two people to make the reservation.

Korea is the most visited country by Japanese. There are great package deals to go to Korea for 3 days for as little as 20,000 yen from Narita International Airport. Other popular destinations from Japan are Taiwan, Guam, Thailand and Hawaii.

Narita and Kansai International Airports are best to travel through because of the number of flights and airlines providing service abroad. Prices are often lower because of competition.

During heavy travel seasons due to holidays, ticket prices are most expensive around Golden Week (4/27`5/6), Obon (8/11`8/20) and New Years (12/28`1/6.)
