Customer Reviews:
WOW!!!
I just got my jBuds this morning and WOW!! That's all I can say. The noise reduction is amazing! The cord length is GREAT! The sound quality is tip notch!
These things are so clear that I can hear the snare drums in a lot of songs that I sometimes can't not hear when I listen to the same song on my computer. The bass these things put out is CRAZY GOOD.
The only beef I have about these, is the cord durability. I've used other ear buds that have a "gummy" feel that doesn't tangle and is a bit softer to move around
But I'll tell you what, JLab has a customer for life! In fact I'm thinking of giving these to my wife and buying the j2's.
Price/Quality
This product has good price/quality ratio. I've been using it with my iPod for 1 month. I've not experienced any problems and happy with this product.
Good for the price, but you might as well get Skullcandy
I owned these JBuds for eight or nine months, and I had no complaints for the majority of that time. Then with wear and tear, the right earbud started to go, and I would have to fight and twist the cord to get a half-second of sound. A couple weeks later they met my vacuum cleaner, and that was the end of them.
The cord was a good length, and there was some reduction in outside noise. The bass was okay, but not that great. I did really like that they came with three different inserts - I apparently have tiny ears, so I was able to make them a size that would stay put in my ear. However, they were uncomfortable after an hour or two of wear.
I replaced them with a pair of Skullcandy earbuds for an extra $3 or $4, and I have to say I should have just gotten the Skullcandy ones first. They're more comfortable, seem to create a better seal and block more noise, and the sound quality's better. The Skullcandy cord is also a lot thicker and sturdier than the JBuds cord. So much sturdier that they survived the vacuum today with absolutely no damage (the boyfriend has an obsession with leaving black earbuds on our black carpet). If for some reason you don't want to pay an extra few dollars, though, the JBuds are good - just be really careful with the cord.
Meh
For $10, you can't beat them, however, don't be expecting GREAT sound. While these do beat out the iPod ear buds, they aren't as good as the Skullcandy Titans (See my review there) I bought at the same time. I figured for how cheap these were, I would give them a shot. Might as well have an extra pair of decent buds in case I lost or broke my other ones. The tips aren't as soft as other silicon tips I have tried, so they don't make a great seal in my ears. Maybe with some Comply foam tips these will be better. Even so, when I do get them sealed, their range of sound is just OK. There isn't much on the bass end, but the mids and highs are decent. They sound pretty good and higher volumes without a terrible amount of distortion. Again, these are just above average sound quality, but they will beat out the ear buds that come with any MP3 player. I can't say much of the noise reduction as these didn't seal in my ear 100%, but they did do more than traditional buds.
Good as a back-up set.
I got these as a back-up set for my Sansa Clip Plus mp3 player. The buds that came with the player actually sound noticeably better than these JBuds do, but they do block out more noise. I'll use them when I expect to be somewhere noisy. For less then $10 I'm still happy with the purchase, and am glad to have something in case my other ear buds get damaged or lost. Shipping was really speedy, and this is a good deal for the price.
